Hawaii Trip Day 3 *Picture Heavy*

Sorry for not posting for such a long time, I've been so busy during my first week of high school (so exciting) that I didn't even have time for my blog! Since I thought I should really finish up with my Hawaii photos, here's day 3 for you! :)

Since I'm still pretty loaded with hw, I'll just quickly go through my whole day.

Yay, we're finally there!

I quickly snapped a gorgeous waterfall view while on one of the canoe rides.




I forgot what this was called, a canoe pageant? Anyways, all the cities who represented Polynesia each had a special performance on their boats.

Too bad I forgot the order of the countries for these dances! ;P









After an exhausting 5+ hours of walking around each "island" and seeing all the fun shows, activities, etc. we had a buffet with lots of traditional Hawaiian foods. Let's see...there was baked taro, chicken, taro bread, potatoes, taro salad, cold spinach salad, more taro, and the most amazing coconut pudding squares ever!

Super Tiny Makeup Swap

I double checked afterwards and it worked perfectly fine! Sigh. I know it's just a giveaway, but I feel really hurt for being falsely accused! Has this ever happened to you before?

2. I just started school on Monday and now that I'm officially in high school, I will be even busier than ever. That means I won't be able to blog as much as before. :(

Spending Fashion's Night Out in NYC

Some designer in the store was refashioning a tshirt for a shopper. Free with any $75 purshace!



Outside, there was also a Marc Jacobs Trunk selling jewelry for under $50. I sort of regret not buying, but oh well!



I also checked out Zara, Bloomindales (bought the FNO Tshirt!), Forever 21 (bought a cute tank and knee socks), Steve Madden, MANGO, and Macys (bought a gorgeous Steve Madden Dress for $13!!!).

I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get to check out a lot of my planned destinations, but it was still really fun for me! Despite getting completely lost in Soho amidst the crowds of people(we had to ask a least 3 people for directions!), it was fun for the first time! (you know, like culture shock?)

Something I'll keep in mind next time: Don't plan on going to too many shops!

I'm serious about this. I was really psyched about getting to meet lots of famous people (Christian Siriano at Payless, Tim Gunn at Kate Spade, etc), but the lines were so crowded, that I'd probably have to waste the whole night in one store! Sigh, I wish FNO lasted longer than just 5 measly hours...

Highlight of the day: Had the BEST Pistatio Ice Cream EVER!!! Tiny cup for $4, but totally worth it! I wish I remembered the name of that tiny truck!

Hawaii Trip Day 2

On Thursday, we got up real early (6:30 AMish) to Pearl Harbor! 7 years ago, we didn't get to see the US Arizona Memorial (is that what it's called?) since we came too late (3 in the afternoon), so this time my mom decided to plan it extra EXTRA early. When we got our tickets, guess what time slot we got for the boat ride? Yep, 9:00. Oh well, the water looked pretty at that time of day! (if you don't believe me then look down at the pictures)

Oh, in case you're interested in visiting this monument, don't bring a lot or any bags. They charge $3 each. =0

Anyways, here are the pictures I took:

After a hot and sweaty wait, we finally got to board on the boat. YIPPEE!

It was a pretty short ride, but fun nonetheless.

Now what you're all been waiting for, the USS Arizona Memorial (again, please correct me if I'm wrong)



Apparently, the Memorial is actually part of the boat! (lol, I never knew)

Here's another fact: The oil from the boat still continues to leak after 50/60 something years (history fail right here). Cool, huh?

Heck, why not another picture of the water while we're at it? This one's my favorite right now. :)



These are the names of all the people who died on the boat. *moment of silence for all the men who sacrificed their lives please*
The lower left corner is dedicated to about 12 people who survived the Japanese surprise bombing and died with their names engraved here.



After that, we saw a 1/2 hour movie about the devastating incident of the surprise bombing. Since I never paid attention to war before, it was very shocking for me to realize how many brave lives were killed.

Let's raise our spirits more now, ne? :)

We toured around Chinatown afterwards and had some dim sum for lunch. I was actually shocked, since the Chinatown looked so old fashioned (you know, like tiny and dirty supermarkets, etc). Maybe I'm just too used to the fancy Flushing in New York, though.

Pretty boring, but a good experience.

After that I just went browsing around Waikiki with my mom. :D

And another fancy hotel. The buffet here is $30+ a person! Looks really fancy though~



Last but not least, a cute little straw bag that I bought in Chinatown for 2 bucks. Score! I kept seeing all the trendy Japanese girls holding straw bags, and I wanted one too!

Hawaii Trip Day 1 (more like 1/2?)

Woohoo, it's day one! Actually, it wasn't really that exciting on the first day. We arrived at Hawaii at about 4PM. Yea, 12 hour plane ride with NO free food or personal TVs. Seriously? If you're curious as to what I did in those hours of torture, I basically made a bunch of cranes (my goal to make 1000) and slept. Meh.

Anyways, here's are the pictures I took. Pretty boring, but I promise, there are better ones later on. :)

After the plane ride, I had dinner with my mom and grandparents at a Chinese restaurant in my hotel. The food was good, but the dishes were so TINY!!! I guess it's normal for such a popular visitor's spot, but seriously, I expect more for $10+ a dish!

After that we went strolling around the streets. I was actually shocked, because 90% of the stores were BRAND NAMES (Louis Vuitton, Gucci, YSL, etc) Isn't there anything cheap to buy in Hawaii? Well, I did come across this really cool Japanese Cosmetics place and bought a few random stuff (a pack of funny gum, ice cream towelettes, eye pencil sharpener). Best part of the day? I got to eat some Japanese shaved ice topped with fresh mango.

Maybe Hawaii isn't so bad after all. (not that it ever was bad)
